About SUPERNOVA: THE MUSIC FESTIVAL MASSACRE
Directed by Duki Dror and Yossi Bloch | Israel 2023 | 52m | Hebrew, Arabic w/English subtitles | NR
SUPERNOVA provides a harrowing and detailed rundown of the raid and massacre carried out by Hamas on October 7 at the Supernova music festival in southern Israel, close to the border with Gaza, where, of the 3,500 people attending, 371 attendees were killed, hundreds were wounded, and 40 were kidnapped by Hamas. The tragic events are pieced together through minute-by-minute real-time footage from festival survivors’ phones, CCTV, dash cams, and the terrorists’ body camera recordings, and chronicled by emotional eyewitness accounts of survivors and first responders.
About Speaker Ofri Reiner
A resilient Israeli survivor of the harrowing Nova massacre, at just 21 years old, Reiner has already faced the darkest of trials, emerging with an indomitable spirit. Her beloved brother, Shalev Dagan z”l, an elite Golani Brigade soldier, lost his life battling Hamas terrorists on October 7. But Reiner is more than a survivor; she is a storyteller, weaving the threads of her family’s journey with her own path to finding strength in adversity and through her work as an artist. Until October 7, she served as a combat soldier and a commander at Search and Rescue. Reiner stands as a beacon of hope for AM ISRAEL CHAI and the human spirit. Follow her on Instagram: @ofri.reiner.
Presented in partnership with Lory & Jonny Rogers and Jewish National Fund USA.
